"USING WCOCA RESOURCES IV"

Or...

"IF WCOCA HAD MONEY TO HAND OUT"

Prior to promising any, WCOCA resources, the board should first though look at the whole list of possibilities, winnow it down to a dozen or so of the most worthy and also, because money will always be a big part of WCOCA "resources", we should set a budget of say $1,500 or $2,000 some such maximum for any actual cash outlays.

Having done those first two steps, we can then look thru the lists making suggestions as we go of other possible ways to help the organizations. Then with all that preliminary organization of the subject, we can now present this "Help List" to the General membership for their consideration, ideas and one would hope, their inspiration to volunteer some of their time and resources.

The following list is of Patron attractors and has been rated (for example*) on:

Next are high visibility community areas. That is, things that that make the community a more pleasant place to do business.

SKATEBOARD PARK
maybe..... $500
Positive activities make for happy kids. Happy kids are likely to lead to a happier Woodstock. A happier Woodstock is good for business. (Good now and good in the future when many of these kids will be our employees and customers). A good non money way to help would be putting up a mini-site for Youth Center.

I can't help but snipe, while the county can spend $71,000 per cell on prison building, a Skateboard park that attracts kids to good positive activity has to panhandle for $60,000 in funds. What is wrong with that picture?

FIREWORKS
maybe.... $100
Possibly this should be an ongoing yearly donation.

VILLAGE GREEN (WCOCA gave them $500 last year)

The ones that didn't make it onto this particular 2004 list are.

Comeau Park
Daily Bread Soup Kitchen
Family of Woodstock

* I need some help rating these lists. I really don't have the knowledge to do it properly by myself.
