A work in progress |
| Overarching policy for WCOCA grants or donations should be that money needs to be raised seperately for this purpose. WCOCA cannot afford to give money from its general operating funds. |

(of WCOCA fund raising) Rated on: Patron Accessibility ~ Publicity Value ~ Ambiance Arts Consortium members Woodstock Artists Assn.....% 8 of pie Sub tot.............................. % 65 of pie
Other Attractions KTD Buddhist Monastery....... 5 Sub tot................................... % 35 of pie
Grand total................. % 100 of pie
Therefore if, for example, I plug $5,000 of raised funds into the calculator, it would yield $3,400 for the Arts Consortium grouping and $1,600 for the "Other Attractions" grouping. Breaking it down into still smaller details, in this example the WAA would get $420 and the Historical society $93.
Guild Based upon each organizations rating, the Gestulator calculates out the following amounts, Guild..................................... 2,648 List needs further refinements by those more familiar with organizations and their publicity. Possibly Barry & Julian could pop over in front of my screen and tweak a bit more. Then when Pat gets back, maybe she and Wallace can do final tweaking before publicizing to a wider audience.

Because it's hard to think of rating criteria that fits all situations, an adjustment field has been provided. For example, Village Green is accessable 24/7 and thus rates a 10 for "Patron Accessability" but, our taxes pay for much of its needed services, therefore its total was adjusted downward. (Again, this list and its ratings are just for example. Perhaps Pat and Barry can take half an hour or so in front of my screen and refine list and their ratings before we publish). |
| Charity tax deduction vs.
business tax deduction. Is it worth WCOCA's while to get into the complication of holding seperate fundraisers in hopes that the charity deduction will attract substantialy larger donations? Because it may often be more conveinient for WCOCA to do a single fundraiser which disperses money to both charity type non-profits as well as business type non-profits, we need to evaluate the possible reduction in total funds raised because donators cannot take the larger charity tax deduction. |
